The end of May saw the completion of the planting at Laurelwood. This beautiful, shady, wooded area was perfect for planting Whitewood Aster, Wild Strawberry, Common Blue Violet, and groundcover grasses like Bottlebrush. These newly introduced plants join an already prolific set of local natives and, together, will provide rich habitat for birds, insects, and other pollinators. This project is also designed to strategically mitigate damaging erosion. The newly planted area has even attracted a curious American Toad (Anaxyrus americanus)!
